11/6/2023 0 Comments Should i buy rimworld royaltyAn example would be powerful faction bases in vanilla attacking enemy bases is always a "lol k noobs" faceroll. You're never going to make RimWorld look like RDR2 it's only ever going to be slightly better than vanilla, and whether it's worth 45 minutes of looking through the workshop or not is your call.Ī few others can take parts of the game that weren't well balanced in the first place and make them more challenging and engaging. But a bunch of purists/anti-mod folks will jump in talking about compatibility issues, and they'd be right. the game is very slightly better with them than without hard to argue against that. Same with some of the graphical tweaks (darker nights, snow on trees, animal coat variety, improved textures, new hairstyles, gradient hair, animated faces, etc). You just scroll around the map with the arrow keys or mouse instead of using a minimap. It feels like it *should* be part of the base game, but if it's not there, you're not missing much. A good example of a QoL mod is the minimap. None of them are necessary anymore most of the major annoyances have been fixed in the base game. I also know that Rimworld was inspired by dwarf fortress (its spiritual sequel?) I think I've read that somewhere, anyway.Īnyway, thanks for reading, looking forward what you guys think. If at all possible, I would prefer to buy them with a sale to save me some money, but I want to give myself a bit of a reward. Should I stick with the main game (with mods) at first?Īnd once I know the game sufficiently, which dlc should I buy first? All dlc have a LOT of content to them, so I'm having a hard time deciding.Īlso, I've had them in my wish list forever, but have they ever been in sale? I know they weren't in sale, a while back. I know there's a HUGE modding scene (28.109 entries at present) however, chances that mods require other expansions are pretty high. I'm still debating whether to actually buy dwarf fortress, so if I decide against it, that would let me buy a second DLC (but not all three) I already have dwarf fortress in my cart, so that leaves me enough money in my steam wallet for either royalty or ideology. So, i've had the game since it was in EA and I haven't played much, but I've finally decided to truly start exploring the game.īut anyway, my question is this: should I stick with the base game first? question two? which mods are essential? question three, and the actual reason why i'm posting this, which dlc should I buy first?
